Day 1892

I woke up about 8.  It was cold, under 40.  So I did the pet stuff and went back to bed to play games.  About 9 I got up and had breakfast.  After breakfast I watched videos.  It was sunny, so I knew it would warm up in a while.

About 11 I took some garbage out and brought in the cans.  The recycle was empty, so it was time to break up one of the bike boxes.  They are huge and heavy.  I got a box cutter and cut the boxes into 1.5 by 3 foot sections.  I also cut out the plastic handles and removed 72 staples.   The result filled up about 1/3 of the can.  I left the other box alone because we hadn't tried Ellen's bike yet.

After that I had lunch.  By that time it was 65 and sunny.  So we got out the bikes and Ellen had her first ride.  I gave her some advice and off we went.  Everything went fine until we got to the other end of the development.  When she stopped she fell off the bike.  Fortunately she wasn't moving, but it hurt.

As she was getting out one of the people came out.  She said she'd been thinking about getting an ebike.  She and her husband spend a lot of time traveling in an RV also.  We talked for quite a while.  Then Ellen tried to get back on her bike and fell again.  Truth be told the bike is just on the edge of being too big for her.  It doesn't help that she is fat, out of shape, and can't raise her leg much (so am I).

I had her get on the bike, start out, ride in a circle, top, and get off the bike.  She did that about 4 times and fell off one more time.  She's not stopping the bike completely before trying to put her feet down.  She wouldn't do anything more, so we went home.  She did fine on the ride.  I found out later that her asshole was giving her trouble.

We both decided we wanted electronic thumb throttles.  i got on Amazon and found some.  We both chose new hand grips also.  They'll be needed with the new throttles.  I ordered the stuff and it will be her over the next few days.

I actually fell when I stopped in front of the garage.  I stopped on the incline and the bike rolled backwards while I was getting off.  I'm so fat now that I can barely get my leg over the frame.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was videos.
