Day 1884

It was a pretty good day for everyone.  We got up at 7:30, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then we surfed for a little while before going to Lucy's appointment at 9.  We had to wait a little while, but they took her in pretty quickly.  We sat in the parking lot.  They took her blood and we talked to the vet for a couple of minutes.

The next stop was Tomlinson's so Lucy could get a vet reward.  They gave her a whole dinner bar.  With that done we drove to Lowe's.  I needed to get the post and a few bits of hardware.  The final stops were HEB for bananas and milk and CVS for drugs.  Then it was home.

The vert was supposed to cut Lucy's nails, but they didn't.  So we did it.  Of course it was traumatic.  Afterward Lucy got a nail cutting treat.

By then it was time for lunch.  Lucy got a tribute along with the cats.  After lunch and a little surfing I went out to the garage.  I prototyped out the new chock position.  It worked fine, but I didn't have a good way to mount the chock.  Ellen suggested two more brackets.  It was a great idea, so back to Lowe's.  Lucy stayed home, so she got another dog bin treat when we got back.

After Lowe's we also stopped at Costco.  We needed water and also got a few groceries.  When we got home I went back out to the garage.  I prototyped the new version of the first chock.  It worked great.  So I built it.  By then it was after 5.  I was getting tired and hungry.  I wanted to have a good start tomorrow, so I attached the brackets to the rack.  Then I quit.

I still have quite a lot to do.  I have to finish mounting the second bracket.  Then I have to mount two raising blocks (at least they're cut).  I have to cut and mount the center post.  Finally I have to mount the front and back tie downs.

When that's done I 'm still not finished.  I have to work out how to clamp the frames to the center post.  That's going to take some time.

Ellen fixed some kind of chicken thing for dinner.  It was OK.  After dinner was a collection of surfing, TV, and game playing.
