Day 578

Today was a pretty good travel day.  We were up at 7 and out of the park before 8.  The whole day was on I15.  We did the first 210 miles without stopping for fuel.  It helped that we made 12.1 MPG even though the road was continually rising and falling 500 - 750 feet.

Just after we fueled up a trucker tried to kill us.  He was driving a 40 foot flat bed with a tarp covered load in the middle.  He was passing us on a left hand curve.  As he got next to us he suddenly swerved into our lane.  His duallys were in our lane.  I have no idea how he didn't sideswipe us.  It must have been a matter of inches.  I stopped at the next exit expecting to see damage, but there wasn't any.

The rest of the trip up to Brigham City was uneventful.  The traffic through SLC wasn't all that bad.  We got 13 MPG, which I thought was fantastic.  We set up and then started to walk over to Wally World.  John and Patty drove in as we were walking out.

They met us at Wally World and we both bought a bunch of stuff.  Then we went to their place for dinner, drinking, and talking.  We quit about 9.

When we got back to our trailer we did a little surfing and then went to sleep.  I was tired after the 350 mile drive.  Tomorrow should be better, only 300 miles all on freeway.
