Day 2288

I woke up about 8, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was fairly warm, 63, so I went outside to move gravel.

I spent an hour and 40 minutes moving gravel.  I lost count of the number of loads, but it was probably around 15.  I managed to use 2 loads to fill in spots in the parking area.  The remaining loads were used to fill in the driving lanes from the bottom of the hill up to the pink fence posts.  The put a noticeable dent in the pile of gravel, but there's still a lot left.

When I was finished I was hot and tired.  I went back inside and had a mojito drink.  Then I started looking at videos, anything that Youtube showed up.  One of the things it showed up was an Injora chassis with a two speed transmission.  That set me off on a long investigation concerning it's features and quality.  It turned out to be pretty good in both categories.  It was also priced nicely.  It's only bad side was it is a pretty much assembled chassis.  It looks like a good candidate for putting a 1946 Power Wagon body on.

Even with it's level of assembly it would take significant work to make it fit the Power Wagon body.  I decided to see how much it would cost vs using a SCX10 iii kit that I'd been planning on using.  Figuring it all out took the rest of the day and some of the evening.  The bottom line was that the chassis based car would cost about $160 less then a SCX10 iii kit based one.  I ordered chassis and the recommended motor and ESC.  I'm waiting on the rest until I see the chassis.

I spent the rest of the evening looking for the best way to install servos in the Jeep.  It's going to cost a lot.  I bit the bullet and ordered them.  The ESC came today, so I have what I need to upgrade the electronics.  The bike rack came today, too.  It's heavy.  I had to get the cart out to pult it in the garage.
