I woke up at 5 because my eye was dry. Getting to the bathroom was very painful. I had to hold onto something every step. Putting my weight on my left foot damn near killed me. I guess it's the definition of getting old.
I went back to bed and slept until 7. Then it was some game playing and getting up. My back was killing me. I could barely walk, but I least I didn't have to hold onto things. I hurt so bad I didn't eat breakfast, but I did do the pet stuff.
After breakfast I started looking at how I'd do the lighting for the Ryft. I spent quite awhile on Amazon looking for things to make into LED mounts for the Green LEDs. I didn't find anything. Sometime during the search I came up with the idea of using servo horns. I got out my stash and found some that would work - with extensive modification. I also figured out how to mount the light bar, again with some modification.
I figured I could sit on the garage chair as well as the kitchen chair (actually the one in the garage is more comfortable). I took the parts I needed and the Ryft out to the garage.
I made the LED mounts by trimming the extra horns off a couple of servo horns and then bolting them together. I drilled out the center holes to fit a 5mm LED. Then I sandwiched the LED in the hole. I made two. I think that they will work great.
I had to modify the light bar mounts. I broke them in half, drilled out the holes, and ground them down a little. I also had to do a little grinding on the light bar case. I drilled two holes in the Ryft batter case to mount the bar. The result looks good.
I took everything into the house. That's when I discovered that I needed standoffs to mount the light bar. That included another trip to the garage to drill out the holes in the Ryft and the mounts. Then I installed the light. I called a halt there. I'll wire up the LEDs and attach them another time.
Ellen spent a lot of the day working on repainting the TRX-4 body. She redid the masking and put some decal matching on it.
I spent the rest of the afternoon surfing. Dinner was leftover pizza. After dinner I looked at Youtube videos on the TV. I also figured out how to surf on the TV. I'm not sure how much of that I'll do. The browser is a little clunky.
