I woke up about 8 and played games for awhile before getting up for pet stuff and breakfast. The weather service was warning that there would be a big thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening. Two inch hail was predicted, so we put the car in the garage.
The weather turned out to be a big nothing burger. There was a lot of wind at time, a lot of thunder, and a total of .6 inches of rain fell. In other words nothing special except for the tornado alerts over the weather radio. We still have one until 1:00 AM, but the radar shows everything has moved north.
After breakfast I decided to finish taking apart the old bike rack. I finished the job and brought a box of hardware and a load of larger parts back to the garage. I put every thing except the hardware away. Then I quit because it was starting to rain.
I emailed Grant about what will be necessary to drain the IRA I inherited from Mom. That got both Ellen and I working on estimating this year's taxes and our net worth. We managed to come up with numbers for both, but it took a lot of effort. The bottom line for Grant is wait until we know about this year's taxes.
I also got really annoyed with the Audi service. I made an appointment 6 weeks ago for an oil change and to fix a recall. The appointment is for Thursday. Today they texted to tell me that they would need to keep the car for a week or more. The alternative was to wait until July. I asked about the oil change. They said to bring it in and they would get it back to me "in a couple of days". I almost cancelled.
I did a little work on the Ryft. I probably could have finished it, but I just wasn't motivated. I think the failure of the winch effort caused the lack of desire to work on anything. Instead I spent most of the day surfing and watching videos. Ellen spent most of the day and evening watching chick flicks.
Dinner was a frozen enchilada. After dinner I felt guilty and did a little RC work. I took the second servo from the SCX and modified it so it could be used in the winch. Hopefully it will work when I test it tomorrow.
