Day 2887

We woke up at 7, fed the pets, hooked up, and left.  Just like yesterday I didn't eat breakfast because I wasn't feeling good.

I guess that this trip is the trip of traffic jams.  We hit another one between Las Cruces and El Paso.  It was caused by construction that squeezed the three lanes of traffic down to one.  The jam was 4 miles long.  Much of it was "a lot of stop and a little go".  Thankfully about a third of it was slow movement.  The good news was that once we were free of the jam traffic moved freely all the way through El Paso.

We averaged about 4 miles per % of ash today.  That meant that there was a regen about 60 miles from Fort Stockton.  It was screwed up by some hills that caused the regen to go into "warmup" twice.  At the end the ash level was 36%.  I've quit worrying about it.  It seems that regens when hauling the trailer just don't work well sometimes.  It does burn a lot of DEF though.

Other than that the trips was a classic boring drive through west Texas.  We fueled up in Fort Stockton before getting to the park.  That's because the park is 6 miles east of the town.  While I was pumping diesel I noticed that one of my tiedown ratchet straps had come loose and  wrapped itself around the brake cable.  We are really lucky that it didn't pull the cable out.

After we set up we took Abby over to the dog park.  She did a little running around, but I'd forgotten to bring the bumper.  After that it was back to the trailer for surfing and lunch.  I'm getting very tired after the drives and I have one more to do tomorrow.

Just before dinner a really energetic dog showed up at the park.  We took Abby over to play.  They had a lot of fun together.  Unfortunately there was a mud puddle in the middle of the park.  Abby insisted in splashing in it several times.  That earned her a bath with a hose before she was allowed back into the trailer.

Ellen fixed pizza for dinner. After dinner it was videos, a nap, and some surfing.
