The main task of the day was to bolt the safe in. I thought it was going to be an ugly job. It turned out to be even uglier than I thought. Today was warm and very humid - at times it rained. Drilling the holes required me to be in that small, hot closet and sometimes inside the safe. When drilling I had to push as hard as I could on the drill to make progress. In no time I was panting and dripping in sweat.
I got two holes done before the battery in the drill began to go south. So I put it in the charger and did a couple of small things - finish hanging the butterfly lights and hang the clock in the shop. I also cleanup the work bench and took some stuff out to the garbage.
The battery still wasn't charged, so we went out to get the mail, some groceries, dog food, and run the dog. All those activities were successful.
When we got back I finished the other two holes. Again I ended up panting and dripping in sweat. So I took a shower.
In the mail we got from Richland was a jury summons that required me to appear on Nov. 7 (today). I wrote them a letter of apology and will mail it tomorrow.
This evening was the annual neighborhood association meeting. About half the officers and one couple (besides me) attended. Nothing of note was discussed or accomplished.
We dialed into the club board meeting. They finished working out the contract with Stephen. I'm not happy with the result.
