We got a couple of things accomplished today. I got the blind for the bathroom installed. Ellen got pictures collected for the frame we bought yesterday. She tried to mat them, but the mat cutter we have is a POS and isn't up to the task.
We also called someone to come and fix the AC. It turns out that mounted to the outside of the AC is a weird relay. The actuator side is 24 volts from the thermostat. The other side is 220 volt and turns on the fan and compressor. It wasn't working because fire ants had clogged it up. Replacing it cost $150.
The repair guy showed us that we needed a new filter. He says they need to be replaced every month. So we went out and bought 4.
When we got back we spent a bunch of time looking online at water softeners. I think I know what I want. Tomorrow we'll probably call someone about getting one installed.
The battery in my watch died today. There's only one dealer in Austin, so I'll have to go there to get it replaced.
I called Hooch in the evening to talk about Mother and see how he's doing. He says they might come down for Thanksgiving. That would be very cool.
