It was cloudy, but fairly warm today. I'd been thinking about the Cabela's rifle. I talked to John about what he really wanted in a rifle. He really wants a deer rifle. I told him to get a Tikka T3 in .308. So we didn't go back to Cabela's.
We talked around what to do, and finally decided to go to south Congress. I drove all the way to the Congress exit and the suggested we go to Fredericksburg. That seemed a better idea, so we turned around and drove there. That gave them a chance to see the hill country.
We walked around Fredericksburg, stopping at a few stores. They liked Texas Jack. We ate lunch at the brewery. At the high quality jewelery store Ellen and I decided to buy a piece of Tsavorite matrix to make into a pendant. It looks cool.
On the way back we stopped at a winery that turned out to have wine made in Israel. John and Melissa said that it was OK, but overpriced. We also stopped at the metal bull. It turns out that that's an advertisement for a gallery of similar things. Unfortunately the gallery is only open the first weekend of each month.
When we got home we ate dinner and then everyone sat around the kitchen table surfing for the whole evening.
