I got up this morning and went estate saleing. I only went to one place, I just didn't feel like driving. It actually had some stuff I could use. A couple of audio cables and a neat box that I can use as a toolbox in the car.
After the estate sale I went to AutoZone for some contact cleaner. They had exactly what I wanted. Then I stopped at Circle C so that the dog and I could walk around the park. Of course she got to swim, too. The dog has an incredible amount of energy.
When I got home I had lunch and then went out to work on the layout. I tested the wiring I did yesterday, it was fine. So I decided to nail down the track. It took hours, but I nailed down the whole of the bottom layer. Then I went to test it.
I got a little bit of testing done, and then the engine died. Of course I spent a lot of time debugging it and trying to fix it. I quit when a small broken piece fell out of the inside of the motor.
I came back in, got the mail, and fed the dog. Then I got out the other engine that doesn't work because the tender trucks are screwed up. I did an engine shell swap. I couldn't use the broken engine's running gear because the frame is broken. I'm going to try to fix it because that frame has a front coupler and the other engine's frame does not.
I took the repaired engine out and tested the track. It runs great, and the new motor runs much better than the old one. I have a problem though. One part of the track is too steep. I'll have to figure out something there.
I worked on engines/layout until 8. That meant a late dinner and then some TV.
