We didn't go to bed until 2 this morning. We both found interesting things to read on the web. We got up at 9 anyway. At least we woke up. Of course we surfed for awhile before getting out of bed.
When I got up there was a squirrel at the feeders. I put on some sweatpants and went out. After a little patience I shot it. When I hit it it jumped off the feeder and ran to the fence before it fell. I looked at it, I'd hit it in the heart. That makes me think that some of the "misses" I've had may have been hits, just not fatal.
I just didn't feel like breakfast, so I just went out to play with trains. After a lot of work I figured out what was wrong with the locomotive I was working on. It was missing a couple of screws that held the voltage pickups together. I tried to fix it by soldering the parts together, but I ended up melting a part and ruining the engine. I'm glad I only spent $5 on it.
I debugged one other engine. I'm going to need some rubber cement to fix it completely. I also tested my only diesel engine. It works perfectly. Great. The only one I really don't want to run works great.
About 1:30 we went to get the mail. By then the of and on rain had turned to a steady rain. That made me not want to drive very far. So after stops at HEB (for lasagna and birthday cake) and Tomlinson's we went home. I did remember to gas up the car.
When we got home I got a beer and planned out our trip tomorrow. Then it was watching Justified for the evening. I guess Gold Derp is over.
