We got up about 8:30 and went estate saleing. I called Jeff, but he didn't answer, so I left a message. No call back. We went to a place up in Bee Cave. There were a lot of really expensive homes in the neighborhood. Ellen found a couple of plates that Melissa collects. I found a road runner plate I liked. So we bought all three.
On the way back we stopped at Spec's for some more syrup. They had this interesting lemonade drink from the same people that make the prickly pear vodka. So we bought some.
The second house we went to was just south of Harbor Freight. I knew it wasn't going to amount to much, and it didn't. I just went there because I wanted to go to Harbor Freight. I got a moving blanket (on sale) and a moving cart there. We ate lunch at Taco Cabana (we had coupons), then we went to the post office and home. I didn't want to run Lucy even though the weather was great. I thought she needed a day off.
I reached a milestone at the bagel place we went to after Taco Cabana. The kid at the cash register gave me a senior discount without my asking for it. Fuck. I'm old.
When we got home I took apart the moving cart to use parts of it for a base for the table saw. John had given me the idea. It was a pain. I didn't have the right bolts, so I had to improvise. Getting the wheels under that big heavy saw was a bitch. I even had to cut off one of the old feet because it was rusted on. I finally managed to get it done just in time to take Lucy to get the mail.
As a last thing I tried another paint test. We'll see how it looks tomorrow.
I was pretty tired after my fight with the saw. I tried some of the lemonade drink. It wasn't very good. Ellen added some Mojito stuff to it and it was a lot better.
The whole evening was watching TV and a little surfing. I hope the paint test turns out OK.
