We got the room in the apartment almost done. I did the second coat on the walls. Ellen touched up the dark green wall and did most of the trim. She'll be able to finish it tomorrow.
I was tired of spraying, so I found something else to do.
While Ellen was doing trim, I replaced the fan in the study. The old one was a very good quality Hunter fan. I replaced it with a cheap one from Home Depot that we got a month ago on Craig's list. I did this for two reasons. First the Hunter fan was huge and dominated the room. It hung so low that tall people would have to duck under it. Second, it only had two 60 watt bulbs inside a glass enclosure. That made the room dark. The new fan is smaller and has 4 40 watt bulbs in open glass enclosures. Much more light. The downside is that it's cheap and hums.
In the evening I found a sewing table on Craig's list that sounded like it might work for us. The sellers live in Lakeway, which is an area about 20 miles away that I've been wanting to visit. When we got there it turned out that there was no way the table was going to work. However they had this very nice antique kitchen table with hidden leaves. We ended up buying it. Now we need to find matching chairs.
About a mile from the seller's house was a park that borders Lake Travis. We took Lucy over there and she had her first swim in months. She was ecstatic. It was a short one though as we got to the park a half hour before it closed.
