Got up fairly early and took the dog for a walk. Then we hitched up and drove 70 miles to Tucson. I'd forgotten how nice a place it is. It's also nearly deserted. Everyone except for a few diehards has gone back up north.
We took a walk around just to look the place over. Then we gave the dog a bath at the dog wash. She wasn't thrilled, but now she smells a lot better.
One of the changes that they made was building a library in one of the apartments. It's really nice, with brand new bookshelves along all of the walls. They must have over a thousand paperback and hardcover books.
It was hot (over 90). So I got a book down and spent several hours there reading. Ellen had gotten the satellite set up and was watching the chick flick channel. I couldn't bear it.
In the evening we went over to the casino to gamble and have dinner. We won $6. We ate at a restaurant that we had eaten at before. Last time we had sandwiches and they were great. This time we had fried seafood and it was terrible. Oh well.
We may stay an extra day here. It's nice.
