Day 186

The first day of preparing to leave is over. First I took out the garbage. There wasn't as much as in previous weeks. Then I had the oil and brake fluid changed in the truck. Then I had it washed and waxed.

When we got home it was house cleaning time. I used the shop vac to vacuum up all of the leaves and paper shreds that were littering the study, kitchen, and living room. Then I used it on the rest of the house for good measure.

There are 4 boxes of records and a couple of small boxes of miscellaneous stuff that haven't been unpacked. There was also a big box of computer stuff. I unpacked the big box and put the stuff away. About half of the box's contents are going to Goodwill because they are obsolete.

I moved all of the stuff out of the house that needed to go back to the trailer or to the garage. It took several trips. I also turned down the water heater. All that's left to do is set the alarm and lock the doors.

Finally I went around the place taking pictures of everything inside and out. I know that people are going to want to know what it looks like when we get back.

Tomorrow's going to be another busy day. I need to install the hitch and get the trailer ready to go. I also need to finish cleaning up the ammo or Ellen won't have anything to shoot when we get on the road. The last thing will be to turn down the water heater in the apartment (after we've taken showers).
