We went over to Windwalker today to shoot. It was the first time in well over two months. I shot as you would expect - very poorly. But I had a lot of fun.
The weather was perfect. Sunny and 70 degrees. With about a 20 mph wind. The target setter had done a good job correcting for the wind. I bet he's had a lot of practice.
They were having a non-registered fun shoot. 50 sporting, 50 5-stand, 50 skeet, and 50 trap for $60. That's a good price. Only I didn't want to shoot trap or skeet and I didn't want to shoot 200 straight birds. They had lunch for $5. Smoked sausage, steak, salad, chicken with noodles, rolls, and four kinds of desserts. I almost bought a second to take home in a doggie bag for dinner.
We stopped by HEB on the way back and topped off the tank. When we got home we hooked up the trailer so that we can get a faster start in the morning. Then I read a couple of magazines and took a nap. It's the first time I've done either in months. I could get to like this retirement shit.
Tomorrow we're going to Deming NM. That's 407 miles away according to Google. It's the second longest drive we will have on the way home. When we get there we will have covered 30% of the distance to Oregon.
