I woke up at 8, turned over, and went back to sleep for half an hour. I love being able to do that. We surfed for awhile and then got up to do pet stuff and have breakfast. I also called a garage door company. They said they'd call back this afternoon. Then I went out to the garage.
I wanted to determine what I would need to wire an outlet near the garage door. That took quite awhile and two trips up above the apartment roof to look at the wiring. I finally found the wires to the garage outlets. I also managed to get enough slack in one to allow me to tap it for the new outlet.
All of that took until about noon. I was hot and sweaty by the time I was done. It was getting near 80 degrees and very humid. I had lunch and then waited for Ellen's asshole to quit giving her problems. After an hour it was still giving her grief. So Lucy and I went to Lowe's alone.
We took 45. They've restricted the north bound to one lane just past the curve. The traffic was stopped at that point and not moving at all. This was at about 1:30 in the afternoon. I waited for a few minutes until it was obvious that nothing was moving. Fortunately I had the truck. I drove about 300 feet in the median to a place where I could cross to the southbound lanes. Then I went back and took Escarpment to Slaughter.
Lucy and I bought what we needed at Lowe's. She was very good there. Then we stopped at the post office on the way home. I guess Loop1 is no longer a viable route south of Slaughter.
We got back about 3. I spent the next two hours working on the outlet. I installed the junction box, the conduit, the wire, and the outlet box. I still have to connect the outlet wires, add one conduit clamp, splice in the wire, and box everything up. I should be able to finish it up tomorrow. It feels good to be doing a project.
Unfortunately the garage door people didn't call back.
I took the dog to the mailbox. When I tried to get back in the gate wouldn't open. I called Ellen and she came out but couldn't open it from the inside. I unhooked the opener and got in. I hooked it back up and tried the inside opener. It worked, but the outside one still wouldn't. I'll look into it tomorrow.
Dinner was frozen pizza. Then we watched TV for the rest of the evening. I surfed on my new computer. It's battery life isn't very good.
