Day 168

We slept in a little today and then went to the one estate sale that looked interesting.  They had a rabbit picture we'd like to buy for Pat, but they wanted way too much for it.  Things are supposed to be 1/2 price tomorrow, so we'll probably go back and buy it if it's still there.

We stopped at the credit union so Ellen could get some tax info.  Then it was on to Kohl's so I could get some new jeans.  We felt guilty about yesterday, so we took Lucy to Circle C.  She had been kind of a pain in the ass whining the whole trip.  We walked around the park while she searched for squirrels and mice.  I cut off her narcotics on Wednesday and it doesn't seem to hurt her so far.

Ellen wanted to eat at the Italian place so we did.  It was really muggy, but the wind made sitting outside with the dog pretty nice.  After that it was home.

I kind of messed around on the web for awhile and then went out to work on the layout.  I started to lay the track from the curved viaduct to the plateau.  I immediately found out that the power leads were too short.  So it was inside to make up 9 sets of longer leads.  Crap.  Then I went back outside and got the track laid.

After laying that section I decide that the switches at both ends of the upper mainline needed to be nailed down for positioning.  That's when I remembered that their holes hadn't been drilled.  So I drilled the holes and stripped the wires.  By then it was 6:30 and I didn't feel like doing anything else today.

I bet I have 2 or three more days of work to do before the track is fully done except for the central siding.  I have an idea for that, but it will take another $50 of track.  I'm not sure I'm fond of that.
