Day 482

Today was a little cold - mid 50's.  We got up at 7:30, ddi the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Hooch and family showed up about 8:30 and had breakfast.  After breakfast we spent time coercing Alicia into doing her math homework.  She really didn't want to do it.  While she was doing that we changed Ellen's bag.  After about an hour of that it was outside to play basketball.  That's something both kids like.

We left between 11 and 12.  The first stop was the post office.  That was a quick one.  The next stop was a Texas souvenir store near Harbor Freight.  We spent hours in there looking at stuff.  Martha bought some stuff, and so did Ellen and I.  Then we went to Hop Doddy's on Lamar for lunch.  By then it was after 1:30, but still crowded.  We had to wait a little while for a table.  Everyone was impressed with the hamburgers.

As we were leaving Hop Doddy's Ellen announced that her bag was leaking.  I was pissed.  It was leaking because she was wearing her seat belt with no padding.  So  instead of looking at some south Lamar stores, we were going home.  At home we changed her bags while Hooch and family entertained themselves.

After an hour we left for the trampoline place.  The kids really like that place.  We spent two hours there and got out about 7.  They wanted to see the Rogue 1 movie at Alamo on Lamar.  We had 20 minutes to get there.  We made it, but had no where to park.  Luckily there was a spot in the valet parking.  The valet wasn't around, so we parked there.  We made it while the ads were being played.

The movie was pretty good, and we ordered dinner there, too.  After dinner we decided to go to Amy's for ice cream.  There was one on south Lamar just past 290.  It was a little after 10, but it was still open.  We were on south Lamar just before 290 when the rental van died.  We pushed it to a semi-safe place, unloaded it, and walked to a beer and pizza joint near Hobby Lobby.  The national Hertz line wasn't much help.  We called the local people and they said they had a car.  So we called a cab.

It got there in about 20 minutes and we took it to the airport and got a new van.  We didn't get home until midnight.  We didn't get any ice cream.
