Day 496

We got up with the alarm today.  We did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Ellen had a doctor's appointment at 9:15, so we surfed for about half an hour waiting for the traffic to go down.  We left at 8:45.  It was cold, in the 40's, but we didn't take the dog because we were afraid that it would get hot.

The traffic wasn't completely clear.  The slow down started before the south side of the bridge and lasted until about 25th.  We still got to the parking lot at exactly 9:15.  It didn't really matter much.  We still had to wait half an hour to see the doctor.  There was good news and bad.  The good was that Ellen is progressing normally.  The bad is that getting near normal function could take 6 to 9 months and she'll never regain complete function.  The doctor did give her some coping strategies.  It's like the bag.  We'll just have to learn how to deal with it.

Ellen hadn't eaten any breakfast, so she did need to shit.  So I stopped at McBride's.  They didn't have a p320.  We did get the last state quarter we needed to complete the collection.  We drove in on Guadalupe and then turned onto Congress.  We stopped at south Congress and walked around for awhile.  We went to the store with the rabbit.  That's something I wanted to do for a long time.  We also stopped at the boot store, but they didn't have any wide sizes.

On the way home we stopped at the yuppie grocery store.  We picked up lunch at Arby's but took it home.  Ellen didn't want to eat until she was near a toilet.  The last stop was the post office.

We were home before 1.  We surfed most of the afternoon away.  I went out about 4 to do my exercises.  I took the dog out at 5 for the mail.  That was it for the afternoon.

The evening was TV (gun shows) and a little reading.
