I turned over and got a litle more sleep when the alarm went off, but not much. Ellen was antsy and got up to take a shower. Afterwards she did the pet stuff, I felt guilty and got up.
The surgery was scheduled for 11, so we figured we would do a little surfing before leaving. I also ordered an AR-10 lower. About 10 they called to say that the surgery had been postponed until 1. So we did more surfing and I did some information searches about AR-10 builds. We left about 11:45.
Traffic was really good again. It only took about half an hour to get to the hospital. They put Ellen in a small room, dressed her up, hooked up needles, and filled out paperwork. Then they told us the surgery had been delayed until 3.
At 3 the surgeon still wasn't there, he was at another hospital. They finally wheeled Ellen off to the operating room at 4.
The surgery took about 2 and a half hours. The surgeon said everything went well, but that's what he's always going to say. The drugs made her nauseous, so they kept her in the PACU until 8:15. She was totally out of it when they brought her in. So I didn't hang around. The dog had been in her cage for more than 8 hours.
I spent almost all of the time at the hospital either on the AR-10 or rating in the cafeteria.
The traffic on the way home was light, but I didn't feel like going to the post office. Lucy was really glad to see me. She had a long drink, dinner, and went out to pee. When she came back in she immediately started asking for her Kong.
I surfed for awhile and then went to bed.
