Day 1370

I got up at 4:30, skipped breakfast, and was on the road by 5.  It was still dark, and my eyes made it difficult to drive.  I couldn't tell how far away the headlights and tail lights were.

Then 205 exit was blocked.  That was OK.  There wasn't much traffic and the route through downtown is shorter anyway.  I did have one problem.  I missed the I84 exit and had to take a 5 minute detour through downtown.

Other than that the trip was uneventful.  I got 15 mpg, so I only had to stop for gas once.  I had to stop once to go to the can also.  I got to Richland about 11:15.  I stopped at Thorny's for something to drink and the gas station to fuel up.  Then I met Dan at the RV park.

Dan brought his tractor and some pallets.  That made unloading things a lot better.  That was especially true for the lead and ammo.  I took the time to set up the shelves and place stuff on them.  We were done about 1.  By then it was over 90 and I was dirty, sweaty, and tired.  I went and filled out paperwork while Dan went home.

When I was done I went to Dan's.  We talked for awhile and then loaded the mower  on the trailer.  That's when we discovered that the trailer wasn't latched to the ball.  It went straight up in the air when the drove the mower on.  He backed it off and we hooked the trailer up.  I'd driven all the way there without having the trailer hooked up.  The reason it wasn't a problem is that I'd loaded all of the ammo and shot so that the weight was on the trailer tongue and the truck.

After that I left for Wildhorse.  I had Ellen call and make a reservation.  That turned out to be a good idea, they only had two rooms left.  When I got there I couldn't fuel up because the station was packed.  I also had to park in the back 40 because the front and side lots were completely full.  I checked in and immediately took a shower and changed clothes.

After that I went down to the buffet.  I'd only had a snack in Baker on the way back all day.  It was pretty good.  After that I walked around the casino a little and then went back to the room to watch the Dodgers win.  When the game was over I went to sleep.  It was 8:30.
