Day 1384

We got up about 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went out and dumped all of the tanks.  After that we did a little surfing and then left for Portland.

Traffic was a little heavy, but it was moving.  We got up there about 11:30.  Mom was eating dinner.  We talked with her, helped her eat, and just sort of hung out.  I noticed that they've started giving her IV antibiotics.  The nurse said that that was started last night and that it seems to be improving her blood chemistry.  Mom certainly was acting livelier.

A physical therapy person came in.  He got her out of bed and using the walker to move around the room.  Mom was wisecracking a little.  She did OK, but tired out pretty quickly.

After that we went to lunch.  Hooch and the girls showed up while we were in the cafeteria.  When we went upstairs everyone played UNO with Mom.  The doctor showed up.  She said Mom was looking better and might be released tomorrow if there is continued improvement.  She seemed open to Mom staying longer if Touchmark wanted it.

We followed Hooch to his house about 4.  He fixed steaks for dinner.  After dinner everyone played Wii.

We got home about 9.  Cooper had gotten himself locked in the shower.  He'd ripped off a couple of door seals trying to get out.  One is damaged a little, but I think it will still work.

I'd done some research at the hospital on how to install the surge protector.  It seems like the best way would be to disconnect the wire at the outside plug, connect a new wire, and attach the protector.  That will be a lot easier than removing the electrical panel.  I ordered the protector before going to bed.
