Day 25

We hung around the house today.  I was going to take advantage of the cloudy weather to do some edging, but Ellen decided to pull one of her "I don't want to do it, so I'll do a half-assed job" deals.  We had bought a spice holder in Oregon to organize her 20 bottle spice collection.  She sort of did it, but only half was and left the holder on the counter.  I was disgusted and decided to finish the job.

I put more bottles in the holder and made room for it in the cupboard by organizing the contents and getting rid of stuff that hasn't been used in years.  Then for some reason I decided to tackle the pantry.  Ellen had just piled things in there at random and there was literally no room to put in anything else.

So I spent well over an hour organizing food, cleaning shelves that had had crap spilled on them, and throwing away expired food.  When I was finished you could see everything we had and there's several feet of empty shelf.  While I did all of this Ellen played with Scooter.

After lunch the sun had come out and it was getting warm.  So much for yard work.  Instead I went to the garage to handle some of the work that needed to be done there.  I cleaned up some stuff and put it away.  Then I built a hanger for the halogen work light and hung it over the work bench.  I also sharpened both of my work knives.

Then it was time for the neighborhood party.  There was quite a turn out.  Ellen fixed some BBQ chicken legs that went over well.  I had some great conversations with several neighbors.  It was fun, but ended a little early because we're now on daylight losing time.

After that it was back home for football.  The Seahawks barely won, and the Packers are busy losing.
