Day 511

Today was a sleep in a little, and surf a lot day.  I finally got out of bed about 10.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  All the pets were glad when I finally got up.

There were two squirrels out in the yard when I got up.  I got one of them.  I think the rifle is shooting a little high.  I'm going to have to check it out again.

There was an estate sale in Buda that looked interesting.  It had pictures of a couple of light houses.  It turned out the person living there really liked lighthouses.  We ended up buying two ceramic lighthouses and a garbage can with a picture of a lighthouse on it.

We were only a few blocks from Cabela's, so we went over there.  The police were having a motorcycle derby in the parking lot.  There were motorcycle cops from all over Texas there.  They were running these really complicated tracks set up with cones.  These guys were really skillful.  we watched them for quite awhile.

After that we took Lucy to Cabela's.  They were having a sale on 6.5 Creedmoor, so I got 60 rounds.  After we were finished we ran Lucy next to the store.  She did 29 retrieves.  Then we had lunch at Dan's hamburgers.

We had about 1.5 hours to kill before Ellen's doctor's appointment.  I stopped at the Restore store and just killed time looking around.  Ellen sat in the car with the dog because it was warm.

We got to the doctor about half an hour early.  Amazingly we saw him about 15 minutes after the appointment time.  It was a really short appointment - "hi, how are you doing; I'm doing OK considering; Great, goodbye".  After that we stopped at the post office and then went home.  We didn't get home until 5, so the dog got fed immediately.

After feeding the dog I went outside.  I washed out the garbage can we bought.  Then I did my exercises.  Finally I put the accuwedge into the rifle.  Actually I cut a piece off of it and used the Dremel to grind it down to fit.  It took almost an hour to get it done.  That finishes the rifle though.  The next step is shoot it.

The evening was TV and reading.
