I woke up at 7 this morning, but didn't want to get up so I went back to sleep. Wen the alarm went off I turned it off and went back to sleep until 9. That was too long. I felt like crap when I got up. There was a victory of sorts though. Starving myself is having results. I lost 3.5 lbs last week.
After pet stuff and breakfast it was time to go outside. I'd noticed a couple of large thistles in the yard the other day. It was time to go on a search and destroy mission. I mixed up a gallon of Roundup in the hand sprayer and went to work. There were only half a dozen or so in the front yard, but the side yard had some really impressive plants. The back yard had only a couple and the side yard by the parking area had none. There were also a couple by the well house. All total I spent almost 2 hours walking around and spraying weeds.
While I was out there I noticed that the far line of septic sprinkler heads is in danger of being overgrown. Tomorrow I'll cut down all of the vegetation and use Crossbow to make sure it doesn't come back. I'll also dig out the grass around the near row heads.
When I was done I went in and took a shower. As I was getting out of the shower I realized that I should have done my exercises. So I went out to the garage and did them. Then I got back into the shower and rinsed off. After that it was time for lunch.
After lunch I loaded up the dog and went out to do errands. Up until now I haven't mentioned the fly invasion. The kitchen and cat room have been taken over by hundreds (literally) of really small flies. I think they are really small house flies. When I walk from the kitchen to the cat room a literal cloud of them rises up. So the first stop was Lowe's for fly strips and a trowel to dig out sprinkler heads. Lowe's didn't have a trowel, but they did have some citrus spray that is safe for use in a kitchen.
The next stop was HEB. I used the one on William Cannon because it has shade for the dog. I got milk, vegetables, and fly strips. Then it was the post office and Red's to buy another case. The first one worked really well and they are reasonably priced.
When I got home I hung up a fly strip and attacked the flies with spray. Apparently the spray only works when sprayed on them. It doesn't work if they land on a sprayed surface, but it really works when you spray it on them. I probably killed over 100. There's lots left though.
The watch band that I ordered came today. I put it on the S3. It looks really nice and is more comfortable than the old band. Then I put the STI and PPQ in the new case. Finally I cleaned the radishes that I bought.
After that I surfed until it was time to take the dog to the mailbox. After that it was reading a little surfing until dinner. The evening was the gun shows.
