Day 518

I got up with the alarm today  I might have napped for a few minutes, but that was all.  Then it was a little surfing before getting up to do the pet stuff and have breakfast.  A squirrel showed up and I shot it.  It dropped out of the tree, so I thought I'd killed it.  As I put the rifle away it started crawling away.  By the time I got it out again the squirrel was gone.  I let Lucy out and she found it and retrieved it.  She earned a cookie.

After breakfast it was a little more surfing, and then we went to an estate sale NW of Dripping Springs.  Unfortunately I followed the GPS directions.  They took us miles out of out way.  It probably took twice as long or more to get there than it had to.

The estate sale looked good on the web, but wasn't near as good in person.  To cap it off their prices were over the moon.  If they had cut all of their prices in half I still would have thought things were too expensive. We didn't stay long.

The next stop was the park in Dripping Springs so Lucy could run.  On the first retrieve I threw it a long ways from the direction she ran in.  She ran a search pattern and paid attention to my hand signals.  I didn't say a word, and after a little work she found it.  It was a great retrieve.  All in all she did thirty or so.

We stopped at the breakfast/lunch place for lunch and then went to Tractor supply for bird seed.  Then it was home.

It was hot and muggy all day, but it was supposed to rain later.  So I just waited until the clouds came and it cooled down.  About 3:45 it was down to 81 with 66% humidity and clouds.  So I went out and did an hour of moving gravel.  I did about 11 or 12 feet.  I'm now really close to even with the yard light.

When I was finished I took a shower, surfed and had dinner.  The evening was a lot of TV watching and reading the paper.  I'd never gotten around to reading last Sunday's paper.
