We got up at 7, packed up the trailer, and were on the road by 7:50. It seems that's about the time it takes to get on the road in the morning.
The day was totally uneventful - exactly what you want on a travel day. We got pretty good mileage and the fuel stops were easy. The only difficult part was the 100 miles through the Salt Lake City urban area. Even though it was a Saturday there was enough traffic to make the construction areas a little hairy.
We did have a problem with campgrounds. The places in Page finally called Elle while we were on the road. They said they didn't have any spaces. So we're stuck in the middle of Utah (Marysvale) with no place to go and the place is closing for the winter in the morning.
It's too bad they are closing. There's a huge number of ATV trails there and several rental places. I'd have stayed there if they were going to stay open.
I thought we could go to Williams instead of Page. Unfortunately it's going to snow there on Tuesday, and I want no part of towing in the snow. So we decided to go on to Camp Verde. Ellen called and changed our reservations. She also got reservations in Mesa for the extra days.
We'd made good time and got in in the early afternoon. There's nothing to do here, so we just surfed. At least the Verizon signal is strong.
Ellen fixed pancakes and sausage (Thorny Dean) for dinner. It was good.
