Day 1081

We got up at 8:30 Mountain time, 7:30 Arizona time.  We did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and left for Sedona.  We stopped at Bell rock on the way up to hike up it.  We went halfway around it on one side.  Ellen was getting tired, so on the way back she stopped while I climbed up higher.  I got part way around the other side before it got too rough to walk on.  I had a lot of fun, and so did Lucy.

The weather was beautiful, clear skies and upper 50's, low 60's.  Unfortunately I forgot to bring the camera, so we had to use the phones to take pictures.

We were both tired after the hike, so we went into town.  There were a lot of people.  We parked in a parking structure that was just off the main street.  We'd never noticed it before.  We ate at the restaurant that has the great view of the red rock.  Then we went shopping.

We went to all of the shops on both sides of the street.  We had a good time, and were really successful.  We got Christmas presents for the nieces, t-shirts for us, meteorite earrings for Ellen, and a road runner wall hanging for me.  We spent the rest of the afternoon there.

Two of the places we bought stuff from gave use restaurant discount cards.  So we ate diner at a pizza place that allowed dogs. Lucy was very happy, since we'd left her in the truck all afternoon.

We drove back via Cottonwood so I could stop at Wally World for a plastic container.  It's not any longer than going back on I17.

When we got home we surfed the evening away.  There's no cable TV here.

All in all we both thought it was a highly successful day.
