We got up at 7:30, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. I dumped the tanks while I was doing the normal hookup stuff. That added half an hour and we left at 9.
The trip was uneventful with two things of note. We saw a depressing number of Beto signs and no Cruze signs. Also, the polling place was packed at 10:15 when we went by.
When we got home the outside gate controller didn't work, luckily the one in the truck did. Some of the trees were a little overgrown, but nothing needed cutting. I tried a new way of setting up to park the trailer. It worked OK, but it still took at least half an hour of jockeying to get it parked. It was parked by 11.
We spent the next two hours unloading the trailer. We got most of the stuff in the trailer done, but the basement is still full. A lot of the stuff is just stacked in the extra bedroom. There's lots more to do.
After lunch Ellen moved more stuff and I unloaded the truck. All of the truck stuff was just stacked in the garage.
The car started right up. A little after two we took it to the post office to pick up the mail. There was a whole small box of it. We stopped at Chedder's because I wanted a drink. Then we went home. Loop 1 is a mess, but they've made an impressive amount of progress. It's still going to be years before it's done.
I called a halt to moving when we got home. Instead I spent hours going through the mail. So did Ellen. I also set up the TV. It worked with no problem. The weather station batteries were dead. I replaced them, but nothing worked until I cycled power on the receiver. I also fixed the gate controller. It needed new batteries. I had to clean the contacts before they would work though.
Because we'd snacked at Chedder's, there was no real dinner. I had some raisin bread and Ramen.
The evening was football and reading magazines. I also looked in the apartment. Isaac has left all sorts of his inventory there.
