Day 462

Today sucked.  All right, the trip went fine, but everything else sucked.

It started out at six when Ellen woke up and needed her bag changed.  So we got up and started the process.  I started moving out all of the things that were last minute items.  It was really nice that it had decided to rain while I did that.

In between taking stuff out and helping Ellen I managed to have breakfast.  Of course I had to get the milk form the trailer.  Afterwards I learned that Ellen hadn't started the dish washer yesterday.  So I had to wash anything that had rotten food on it by hand.

The last hassle before leaving was disconnecting the trailer.  I had already locked up the trailer and the garage.  I had to unlock the trailer, unlock the garage, disconnect the cord, and lock everything up again.  Did I mention it was raining?

With all that crap we didn't get started until 8:15, even though we got up at 6.

The trouble continued.  We got about half a mile before the trailer plug started acting up again.  I stopped and plugged the cable into the other connector.  It worked fine after that.  Then I had to stop in Dripping Springs to take a crap - my third of the morning.  I think we stopped at every light in Dripping Springs.  In fact, the lights were against us.  We stopped for one of the two lights in Johnson City, and all but two of the lights in Fredericksburg.  Needless to say, we made crappy time.  We also had to stop for fuel in Fredericksburg, because for some reason we were only getting 9 miles to the gallon.

Fortunately that was the end of the woes during the trip.  It was long and boring.  We still managed to average 57 mph with three fuel stops.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

There was one last hassle when we got to the park.  After dinner I couldn't find my truck key.  After a frantic half hour of searching I found it in the pocket with my phone.  I put it there when I had both items in my left hand.

Ellen has been complaining about her bag all day.  There's been much moaning and groaning.  Apparently we'll have to change it again tonight.  It looks like we'll be doing that at least twice a day until her surgery..
