Day 472

We got up at 6:45 and got ready to leave - toilet, breakfast, and pack up the trailer.  We were on the road by 7:45.

We mad good time to Kingman although at times it rained pretty hard.  Then we ran into a slowdown just as we entered Kingman.  There was this huge transporter hauling a huge dump truck on the side of the road.  There were at least half a dozen police cars, one of which was blocking the outside lane for no reason that I could see.  Traffic cleared up immediately after that.

We stopped at the usual place on the other side of Kingman.  That's when Ellen's bag fell off.  We spent about an hour in the parking lot there changing it.  The drive to Phoenix was uneventful.  The trouble was that between the Kingman delay, bag delay, and losing an hour Phoenix traffic was heavy in a couple of places, down to stop and go.

All that turned today's trip into a 8.5 hour marathon.  We were lucky though.  Ellen was too busy with Scooter to call the RV park.  We got the last place in the park.  We also managed to fuel up at a new place that was really easy to get in and out of.

We ran the dog after parking.  She did 32 long retrieves.  We're going to go to bed on Arizona time, because we're getting up tomorrow on their time also.
