The alarm went off at 7. We got up immediately. After morning stuff and a quick breakfast we got the trailer packed up to move. We were out of the park at 7:55.
The drive was uneventful and boring. We did get really good gas mileage. It varied from 12.8 to 13.4. It helped that we had a tail wind for a lot of the way.
There was only one short slow down in El Paso. Otherwise it was clear sailing. One thing I noticed. We saw at least 4 damaged cars towing undriveably damaged cars. I think they were taking them to Mexico.
The only sore spot was the place we wanted to stay in Casa Grande wouldn't answer their phone. I ended up having to stop on the east side of Tucson until Ellen found us a place to stay. We're in a KOA about 15 miles south of Casa Grande. The people at Casa Grande called us back about two hours after we called them, and after we'd made the other reservations. It's an OK place with an on-site restaurant. We ate there. It was good.
Ellen's bag was leaking when we got off the road. So we changed it after setting up. It was leaking again after dinner. Another 2 hour bag.
We're staying on Texas time. That means will get up tomorrow at 6 o'clock local time. That should let us get through Phoenix early enough to avoid any traffic.
