I woke up about 15 minutes before the alarm. I sent the time entering places to see in my phone. Then I got up, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast.
After that it was time to tackle the truck light bulb replacement. I vaguely remember that it doesn't go well. I was right. The assholes that designed the wiring harness should have left 1 or 2 more inches of wire on the connector. The wire is too short to get a hold of the bulb latch to replace it. I started to remove a guard to get at the bulb. That didn't work. It was made harder by my not having metteric tools.
I ended up removing the air intake. That gave me plenty of room, and I replaced the bulb in short order. Of course then I had to replace the intake, as well as all of work I'd done trying to take off the guard.
It had taken over an hour to do this, but I was feeling pretty good. I went to the can and was ready to leave. That's when Ellen said her goddamn bag was leaking. So we changed it. Then we locked up the trailer and got in the truck to go to the show. When I started it the check engine light was on. I stopped it and checked the air box. I hadn't gotten the intake hose completely on it. That caused the problem.
Of course the damn light wasn't going to go out just because the problem was fixed. We had to drive to a dealership to have them reset the code. They did it right there in the parking lot and it didn't cost anything. We continued to the show from there.
We parked at the Venetian. We had to drive all the way to the top floor, 14. It took two elevators to get down. We walked towards the show. We got to the restrooms by the casino and Ellen went to the can. When she came out she said her fucking bag was leaking. So we left.
We drove down 14 stories. As we were pulling out of the garage I miscalculated and tagged the back of a car that was crossing in front of us. There was no damage to the truck, but it scraped his quarter panel. So there went an hour or so exchanging info with him and then on the phone with the insurance company.
When we got home Ellen got in bed, took off the bag, and laid there for the rest of the day and evening. There wasn't any point in putting on another bag. I took the dog to the park. We stayed for about an hour. First she spent a lot of time sniffing. Then she did a few retrieves and some socializing. We went for a walk around the big ark with me throwing the bumper. She didn't want to do any more retrieves after that. We walked back towards the truck with Lucy doing more sniffing. I think she realized we were leaving. As we got near the gate she started wanting to retrieve again. She did about 20 more. Then we did leave. I got some lunch before we went home. Ellen isn't eating. Her stoma is causing her muck grief.
When I got home the tire system had arrived. I spent some time figuring out what I needed to install it. I needed a few simple things, a switch, some cable holders, and a fuse holder. I figured a short trip to an auto parts store would do it. I ended up going to 4 or 5 auto stores and a trailer parts place. It too 3 hours. By the time I was done it was almost dark and I didn't have a switch. Fuck.
I started the install anyway. I have the repeater attached to the trailer and the wire run to the battery box. It was dark while I was doing the work. At 6:30 I decided to call it quits. I'm not sure how I want to jury rig things until I can get a switch.
I spent the rest of the evening surfing. I couldn't even summon the energy to read the tire monitor's manual.
We'll put a bag on Ellen about 10. I'm sure it will be leaking in no time.
