Day 456

The beginning of the day sucked.  I woke up about 4 and couldn't get back to sleep.  Ellen woke up a little after 5.  That's when we discovered that Lucy had peed the bed.  She'd soaked through the comforter and the sheets.  So much for sleep.  We got up, stripped the bed, and put part of it in the wash.  Then I did the pet stuff and had breakfast.

We could have gone to the class early, but we wanted to wait until the first load of wash was done.  When it was we started the second, loaded up the car, and started searching for Fletcher.  In the process I found that Ellen had dumped a cat bed and two towels behind the washer/dryer.  That was a fire hazard.  I retrieved the bed easily, but the towel required me to climb up on the washer/dryer and fish them out with a broom handle.  That took enough time to make us late getting started.

We were only a few minute late getting to class.  They were prattling along about God stuff, so we didn't miss anything important.

Did I mention that it was cold again today?  It was 18 when we got up, a new record low for our weather station.

We talked God stuff until about 10.  Then we went out to shoot.  My group shot a pretty challenging 5-stand.  I had 4 layers of clothing on and still froze my ass.  It was windy and cold, and I didn't shoot well.  I chose to have as much fun as I could though.

Then it was back inside for lunch and more God stuff - scriptures, singing, and praying.  I missed out on part of it because I went home to let Lucy out.  She was really glad to see me.  She pissed and then romped around while I loaded some ammo into the car.  She was one really disappointed dog when I put her back in the cage.

As I drove back to the class the low tire pressure warning went off on the car.  I couldn't do anything about it, so I ignored it.  When I got back it was a little more God stuff and then we went out to shoot.  It was a little warmer, mid 30's.  There was still a wind, and it was still cold.  We shot three more 5-stands.  I shot a little better, probably because I took off my sweatshirt to shoot.  Better cold than miss targets I guess.

After that it was a little more God stuff, dinner and then - wait for it - more God stuff.  A lot of it didn't really have any application at all to shooting.  It was all "if you are a good Christian, believe it Jesus, and think about him when you're shooting it will make you a better shooter".  It was supposed to be over at 7, but they dragged it out until after 8.  I was about ready to run out screaming while they were singing.

When we got home Ellen's bag needed changing.  I got out the compressor and put 5 psi in each tire.  They were all down to 30 (should have 35).  We finished the wash, put the bed back together, and then got into it.
