Day 1338

We didn't get up until 8 today.  I had a lousy night.  My back kept waking me up.  Each time I would turn over.  Turning over caused a whole lot of pain.  It sucked.

After pet stuff and breakfast we went to do the wash.  I was planning on going to see Mom until I realized that she would be walking and we will be up there tomorrow.  So we bagged that and went grocery shopping instead.  My back had been killing me all morning.  I almost couldn't get out of the chair or off the toilet at the laundromat. 

When we got home I started to work on the new DirecTV antenna attachment.  It should have been a relatively quick job.  It would have been if the cheap Chinese hitch stabilizer had had a bar for the bottom of the U clamp.  It didn't.  It only had small washers.  I first tried larger washers.  That did't work.  I finally had to make one out of a piece of scrap steel.  This made the whole thing a 2+ hour job. 

While I was doing that Ellen was painting.  The paint has done a great job on the wood for the shelves.  It doesn't look very good on the door we bought for the bathroom cubbyholes.  She'll have to come up with a plan B.

After that I went in for lunch.  After that I did a little Amazon shopping and then sat down to suffer through a chick flick.  That didn't last long.  I decided to mount up the new stereo.  I took the center compartment door off and removed the installed stereo.  It's really just an automotive unit.  Then I cut out the front of the compartment.  That made an amazing mess.  There was dust all over.

After that I had to virtually redo the compartment with the blu-ray and DirecTV.  I reversed the order of the components and re-routed most of the cables.  I also had to change to a new power strip.  The result is a lot cleaner install.  I also routed the optical the two components.

After I cut out the center compartment I found out that it had no floor.  Unfortunately I don't have wood to do it.  So I put everything away and Ellen vacuumed everything.

Dinner was coconut shrimp.  After that I sat down to watch TV.  The next thing I knew it was 8.  I got out the speakers that came with the stereo.  They are too big.  I have very little room for speakers.  So I went on Amazon to find some.  I found a couple of possibilities.  I'll make a decision tomorrow.

That took most of the rest of the evening.
