We woke up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. After that I started work on installing the subwoofer.
Removing the fireplace glass was really easy, just lift it off. Removing the fireplace was easy, too - just remove 4 screws. In a fit of safety consciousness I turned off the circuit breaker. I wasted a little time trying to modify the AC receptacle. It only had one plug. I eventually decided not to bother.
After vacuuming things out I decided that I ought to install dynamat. So we went to pick up my glasses. Car Toys was a block away, so we bought some dynamat like stuff there - $100 for 12 sq. ft. Then we stopped at CVS for drugs. The last stop was an estate sale on the other side of River road. I bought a NIB paint set for Martha.
It was after 1 when we got home. We had lunch and then I went back to work. I installed the sound material. Then I spent quite awhile installing the subwoofer. I had to build a spacer to hold it out from the wall. Then I put a wire around it to keep it from moving.
Finally I put the fireplace back in place and turned on the system. Ellen and I spent some time setting the level. Eventually we got something we liked. Then I screwed the fireplace back in and replaced the glass. Then we spent an hour or so listening to music. It sounds pretty good, but the base is a little too high. I'll reset it once the subwoofer has broken in.
Ellen fixed sausage and mac and cheese for dinner. After dinner it was a little TV. Then I went out to dump the tanks. I flushed the black tank several times and managed to get some of the stuff left in it from last time to come out. Then I put a fair amount of water in it and Ellen put in double chemicals. I'll dump it again in 3 days or so.
After that I took Lucy for a walk. Then it was surfing and TV for the rest of the night.
