Day 1315

We got up about 7.  We fed the pets and I took some of the stuff out to the pickup.  Then we went to breakfast.  It was really good.  There were waffles, bacon, cereal, and a whole lot of other things.  When we were finished we loaded the rest of the stuff into the truck and went to the RV place.  We were there exactly at 9.

They had our trailer out front, so we decided to look at it a little before going inside.  We hadn't been able to see one inside before now.  It's really nice.  It has every option except dual pane windows.  It's a better deal than we thought we were getting.  Eventually someone came out to collect us.

The first step was a really thorough PDI.  The tech was really nice.  He showed us every switch and feature and had us sign off that they worked.  We only found two minor flaws.  Both were fixed while we were there.

After that we waited a little while for the finance guy.  That was an ordeal.  Because there were two trade ins, one not paid for, there was a mountain of papers to sign.  By the time we were finished the packet was half an inch thick.  We bought the extended warranty.  At least I got a little off on it.

Unfortunately they didn't have a very good parts department.  By then it was 1:30, so we went in search of parts and lunch.  There was a Bi-Mart down the street, another RV place across the street, a RV place next door, and a DQ across from Bi-Mart.  We hit them all buying a variety of things.

When we got back we piled all of the things from the truck into the trailer.  Then I hooked up.  The new self leveling system takes some getting used to, but I managed to do it without any major problems.  Then we said our goodbyes and headed 20 miles north to the KOA.

The trailer pulls different.  The truck isn't quite a responsive and it bounces more because of the increased pin weight.  I had to adjust the brakes a little.  All in all it was fine, except for the tires.  One of the piece of shit Chinese tires is running about 10 degrees too hot.  I'll see if I can get them replaced on Monday.

Setting up was cool.  I'm not sure the self leveling system got us completely level though.  It's close.  We spent the evening unpacking.  I installed some stuff - a screen door handle, key holder, and some hose handling stuff.

The campground was having a ice cream social.  Dinner was a scoop of ice cream.  After that I collapsed in one of the recliners.  It's really nice.  After awhile I got up and went to bed.
