Day 609

We woke up before 8, but it was raining again today so we didn't get up until closer to 9.  After pet stuff and breakfast I looked up estate sales.  There were three.  One was at a farm just across the river from us.  Perfect, we'll take the ferry.

When we got to the ferry turn off the sign said it was closed.  It turns out it's closed for a couple of weeks for maintenance.  That meant driving all the way to Salem and then back up on the other side of the river.  When we got there there was no sign.  That's because I'd misread the ad and it isn't on until tomorrow  Crap.

We went back to Salem.  I stopped by the key shop and had them make three copies of the shed key for $15.  Then we went to the next sale.  We bought a rabbit figurine and a Coca-Cola bear music box.  I also bought two storage boxes of hardware.  I really didn't have much hardware here.  Then we went back on Mission to the third one.  Mission was backed up for a couple of miles.  We finally got to the turnout for Walmart.  We turned in because we wanted to remember the item we saw the other day.  It turned out to be a bluetooth phone adapter for the truck.  Neither of us could remember what we had seen.

The third place had some tools I wanted.

It was almost two and I was hungry.  We needed to go to the bank, so I drove back to Woodburn.  We deposited the checks and then had lunch at Gina's.  I like that place.  The last stop was the post office.

When we got home it was raining hard.  I went out to the shed and spent hours sorting hardware.  Oh, by the way the three keys didn't work.  When I looked at them it was obvious that they'd been cut wrong.  I'm going to try to modify one with a file tomorrow.  I've got more to do, but at 6 I did my exercises and went inside for dinner.

After dinner was a little surfing and then watching TV.  A sci-fi series we like just started up again.  The first show was two hours.
