Day 625

It was up again at 7 today.  Then pet stuff, breakfast, and at trip to the club at 7:45.

The class started out with a bout an hour rehashing what happened yesterday.  Then we went out with students.  I was assigned to Dave's group.  That had me worried (it still does) because he usually takes the bottom of the class on the last day.  We had a husband and wife pair.  I worked primarily with the wife.  I got her on targets and she seemed happy.  We spent a lot of the time on the skeet field and she didn't shoot much there.

When we moved to the five stand Dave had me show her how to shoot low gun.  She's learning shotgun because she wants to hunt.  So I couched the targets in terms of birds flying.  She did really well.  I thought I did OK also.

We broke for lunch at noon.  After that it was back out with another student.  He was by himself.  He hadn't shot much, and apparently hadn't had much success with sporting clays.  We took him to the 5-stand.  It took him awhile to get on targets, but then he made some amazing progress.  By the end he was doing really well, hitting some challenging targets the first time he shot at them.

We got back in a little before 4.  Dave did a little debrief of all the participants and that was the end of it.  Apparently everyone will be notified later about whether or mot they passed.

We went to dinner with Dave, Vandy, and Phil (the other head instructor from Ohio) at Red Robin.  The one in Woodburn is small, and it was packed.  We went into the bar to wait, and I told the receptionist we were there.  She forgot.  That caused us to have to wait almost an hour before I went up and asked why they didn't call us.

The delay meant that we ot home pretty late.  After a little TV and surfing I was in bed by 10.
