We woke up at 8, got up and had breakfast. Then it was time to hook up. That went well and we were on the road before 9.
The drive went really well. We had a quartering tailwind for over half the drive. At one point we were getting 12.9 mpg. Later on it turned to a side, and sometimes head, wind. That dropped our mileage for the day to 12. That's still amazing, especially since we also did a regen.
There was an amazing number of semis on the road. Somewhere between 1/3 and1/2 of the vehicles were semis. Of course all of them wanted to pass me. The road was crappy again because it had been torn up by the trucks. It got a lot better after we left New Mexico.
We gained an hour when we got to Arizona, so we got to the park about 12:30. We set up during a brief rainstorm. Then we went back 20 miles to Winslow. We went to the "corner". We took a lot of pictures, bought some trinkets, and had a good lunch. All at the corner. It was well worth driving back to Winslow.
On the way back we stopped at a dog park so Abby could run. There weren't any other dogs, so I threw the bumper for her until she got bored. We also stopped at Wally World so I could get more DEF and some caulk. When we got home I put the DEF in the truck and used the caulk to seal up the Starlink cable box.
The regen today was really quick. It was done with a little over 300 miles and a less then 100% soot level. When it was finished the soot was at 40%. The level didn't go down any later. Right now it's at 75% after less than 150 miles. I don't know if I should be worried or not. We've also used over 1 box of DEF in 1,000 miles. I don't think we've ever had that high a usage.
We only have 191 miles to go tomorrow, so there's no need to get up early. We'll start a little late because it's supposed to snow a little in Flagstaff tonight. I want to give the snow some time to melt. Hopefully we'll do a complete regen during the trip. It would make me feel a lot better.
