Day 3430

We got up at our now customary 7:15, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  I did a couple of small tasks and then we took Abby to the dog park.

There was no one at the grassy park.  We went to the sandy park.  The owners of the GSP we'd met before were there.  Unfortunately neither dog seemed to want to chase much.  Maybe that was because it was already over 80.  After about half an hour we left and took Abby to the lake.

It took a while to find a place where Abby could swim.  The water is so low that all of the roads that we used to use 10 years ago are a long way above water.  The new ones aren't clearly marked.  Eventually we found a good place.  I had her retrieve the bumper in the water.  I'd throw it out a little farther each time.  I actually got her to swim a couple of strokes once or twice.  I also waded out far enough that she'd have to swim to me, but she wouldn't come when I called.  Eventually she got tired and wouldn't retrieve.

Abby smelled like a pond dog when we were finished.  We drove 7 miles into Henderson to a Tractor Supply and gave her a bath.  It was a big improvement.  Then we took her home.  We went to a drive in for lunch.  Ellen didn't want to sit outside, so we ended up at a restaurant next door.  It was good.  After a stop at Albertson's we went home.

At home it was the typical videos and a nap.  I got tired of the current events/politics stuff and went back to listening to sci-fi stories.

Ellen fixed coconut shrimp for dinner.  After dinner was more stories followed by surfing.
