I woke up about 8, played games for a while, and then got up to take the wash to the laundry. When I got back I did the pet stuff and had breakfast. After that there was nothing to do except surf until the wash was done.
When the wash was done we left to go to the state park. We decided that this was better than Zion because the part of Zion that we wanted to hike through was closed because the bridge was out. It turned out to be a great decision.
The park was just 17 miles away, north of St. George. The scenery there was fantastic. It was basically a miles long canyon with amazing geology on both sides. There were sand dunes, red rock, and basalt. We stopped several times to walk trails along the way. We climbed a large hill of slick rock that they called "petrified sand". The next stop was a rock wall that pioneers had written there names on. The third one was a narrow slot canyon with amazing erosion pits on the side. To top it off Abby could walk all of the trails with us.
We spent several hours walking through the trails. Then we drove into St. George to have lunch at the old time hamburger place. It was great - huge hamburgers and "shakes" that were more glasses of soft serve.
The last stop was the dog park. There were lots of dogs there. Abby had a great time playing chase and running after birds.
When we got hoe it was videos for the rest of the afternoon and evening. The large, late, lunch meant that dinner was a sandwich.
