Day 3447

We got up at 8, had breakfast, hooked up, and left the park by 8.  The trip into Baker took a little less then an hour.  I was making sure that nothing happened to the trailer axles.  We fueled up in Baker and then left for Redmond.

The trip to Redmond was uneventful until we got to the last mountain pass.  I'd forgotten that there are several.  The total up and down probably amounted to 4,000 ft at least.  Of course I slowed down whenever there was a curve, and there were lots of them.

We were making good tie until a couple of miles from the summit of the last pass.  They were doing paving and traffic was stopped.  We ended up behind three trailers, 4 or 5 cars, and a box truck.  We were behind the truck, so my view of the road was blocked.  There weren't any passing lanes, so we followed this caravan all the way to Prineville.  They rarely got up to the 55 mph speed limit.

To top it off the road through Prineville was solid cars with backups at all 5 or 6 lights.  Fortunately after that we were able to escape the caravan.  We got to the park about 1:20, which was still pretty good time.

When we set up Ellen found that the two lights over the kitchen island were broken.  One had hit the floor with glass all over.  She cleaned it up while I set up.  Then we drove to the hwy to get fuel.  It was a crowded as Prineville.  Diesel cost $4.01.  Fuck Democrats.

After that we went home and watched the SpaceX launch.  The launch went fine.  The booster blew up on reentry, but that was because they were testing its limits.  The second stage worked fine until it was coasting on its trajectory.  Then it lost control and also blew up.  The launch was an improvement, but not much of one.

After that we watched other videos for a while.  Then we took Abby to the brush across from the park.  She ha a lot of fun running.  We let her run until she was pretty tired.  When we got back it was some more videos until an early bedtime.
