We got up at 7, had breakfast, hooked up, and were on the road by 8.
The trip went well except for a few pain in the ass trucks. It was 250 miles. The road went from 3,000 ft to 6,000 ft, then down to 5,000 ft, then up to 6,100 ft, and finally down to 4,500 ft. We managed to do it with 11.4 mpg. That included a regen. Unfortunately the regen started 12 miles from the Provo exit. We ended up driving 10 miles farther north and turning around. The regen ended about 4 miles into the return south. The result was a 0% soot level.
We to the park at about 12:30. It was great that we didn't have to make a fuel stop. We had over a quarter tank of fuel left when we got there. We set up, fed the animals, and watched videos for a while. At 5 we fed the animals again and then went into town to have pizza.
Apparently the part of Provo we were in was near a university. There were lots of college kids. Most of them were dressed like it was the 50's. There was a bakery next to the pizza place. It had baklava, so I had to try one. The pizza was great. We got a large so there would be leftovers. There was a lot left over.
We fueled up on the way home.
When we got home I scoped out the places we'll shoot at. One is only open on Sat., so we'll go to the other one tomorrow.
The rest of the evening was great. BTW, the baklava was really good. I'd say it was as good as the home made stuff except it lacked the nuts. That's probably because some people don't like them.
