Today was traffic hell day.
I decided to go to a class III store east of the airport on 71. The dumbass GPS didn't know where it was, so I told it to go to an address close to it on 71. First, they are screwing up 71 east of the airport to put in a toll road. It's fucked up from the airport to 130. The traffic was backed up from before the airport to 130. When I got to 130 none of the intersecting and temporary roads were marked due to the construction. The damn GPS routed me onto 13 northbound. Then it told me to turn around and go back. That's two tolls to pay.
Getting back on 71 eastbound was a pain also because of the construction. There are lights on 71 every couple of miles. The traffic was backed up at least half a mile at each light. Eventually I drove (crawled) farther than I thought I should. So I got out my phone (traffic was stopped) and looked the place up. I had gone past it. It was two miles back. I had to sit in traffic for another 10 minutes just to get to a place where I could turn around.
When I got there they had one SBR, a Daniel Defense. I just didn't feel like fighting traffic anymore, so I bought it. It's a nice gun. The guys there were nice. While I was there I called Ellen. She wanted me to go to the hospital. She had a 102 degree temperature. So I stopped by the post office and then took the dog home.
I made sure the dog was tied up before I left again. Then it was more traffic hell. It was about 1:30 and the traffic jam northbound started a little past 360 and ended a couple of miles past downtown.
When I got to the hospital I started a Minions party. I did that because I knew I'd be there until the surgeon showed up. I played Minions, helped Ellen walk around, and helped her piss until almost 6. The surgeon was concerned about her temperature. He was going to let her go tomorrow, but now it's "wait and see". If she still has a fever tomorrow, they'll run a battery of tests.
I left the hospital at 6:30 and ran into more traffic hell. The Parmer entrance was closed. They didn't mark it though, so you got on it, and ended up in a half mile backup getting off. When I got off I could see that traffic on the frontage road was at a standstill. So I took a street west to 183 and drove down it to Mopac. Mercifully traffic was OK after that. I just had my fill of sitting on freeways.
When I got home the dog had managed to do damage even though she was on a short leash. She chewed two holes in the cowhide rug and chewed a big hole in her bed. I'm getting her a crate tomorrow.
I played a little Minions when I got home and accidentally started another party just after I built an earthquake machine. I'll have to wait until sometime tomorrow to play it again. I'm not sure I'm up to another party.
