Last night was fun. Ellen had a blowout about 2 AM. I'm not sure how long it took to get another bag on, but it did put a hole in how much sleep I got last night.
We had to get up early today to go to the surgeon's office. We left at 8 and left the dog at home. I took a back way up to 290 and then took it to Mopac. Of course the traffic jam started just as I got on the Mopac. The amazing thing was that traffic moved relatively quickly. It moved a lot quicker than the traffic jams I was in when Ellen had her surgery. I suspect that's because these people are commuters and the others were soccer moms.
We actually made it to the doctor's office in about 35 minutes. We saw the doctor a little late. He explained what had happened. It was the first time we had heard an explanation. Apparently about 10% of surgeries result in this sort of infection. He's OK with the way the stoma looks. He's gone next week, so his partner will look at Ellen next week to see about removing the drain.
We tried to get a handicap placard, but the doctor didn't fill out the paperwork correctly. I'm about to give up on that. It was noon when we got out, so we stopped at IHOP for lunch. It had stuff that Ellen could eat.
We stopped at Kohl's next so Ellen could get some underwear that is more appropriate to wear with a stoma. The things she was wearing had a waistband that sat over the lower patch area. No wonder it blew out. We also stopped at the post office.
When we got home it was hot and muggy. That meant I didn't really want to do anything. So I just put acrylic on the dust cover labels on the 300 blkout. After that it was surfing and reading. Ellen said I took a nap for awhile. I'm not sure I believe her.
The evening was more TV and reading. Ellen is watching a series where they paint the bodies of naked ladies. I'm liking it.
