We actually got to take Melissa somewhere mildly entertaining today. After sleeping in a little and a leisurely early morning we left for Zilker. We parked by the high school because Ellen can't walk very far. Lucy was raring to go.
We all stood under the bridge while I threw retrieves for Lucy. She kept going on and on without any signs of getting tired. We had to call a halt for awhile at one point to let a snake swim by. Melissa and Ellen got tired of standing around, so Melissa walked across the bridge and Ellen sat at a park bench by the road.
I finally called a halt to Lucy's swimming. Then I threw her 25 land retrieves to dry her off. She was still ready to do more, but we had been there long enough.
We drove back on Congress. I would have stopped, but of course there wasn't any parking. We stopped at Opal Divine's instead for lunch. Lucy got lunch, too. It was cloudy all day. By the end of lunch it was beginning to rain lightly.
When we got home it was surfing and reading. In the evening we put on Office Space for Melissa. She was entertained.
