Day 1431

We woke up about 8 again, but stayed in bed to surf.  It was pet stuff and breakfast wen we did get up.  When that was finished I went to the storage unit to get a board and some ammo boxes to help fix the floor.  Then I went to Thorny's and bought a couple of tooth brushes to spread the glue.

When I got home I cleaned the area and glued down one of the two tears.  I put the board on top and weighted it down with the ammo boxes.  We'll see how it looks tomorrow.

I then went out to work on the truck.  I installed one of the new back speakers.  I had to make small brackets to make them fit.  I got one done, but didn't have the material for another.  By then it was time for lunch, so we went to Halfway.  We ate at the yuppie restaurant there and then bought what I needed at the hardware store.

When we got back I made more brackets and installed the second speaker.  That's when I discovered that the wire crimper was missing from my tool box.  When I was finished we went to the HW store to get one.  Then we went to Dan's.  They were about to leave to go down snake river road.  We followed them.  The radio sounds a whole lot better.

The road down was a little hairy.  I was unsure how much braking capability I had, so I went down in second gear.  In a couple of places it was first.  Whenever there was washboards and I turned the wheels the back end tried to come around.  There were a lot of washboards.

We stopped halfway down and let the dogs out.  Dan's dog ran all over.  Lucy wanted too, but she stayed close to the road.  That was fine with me.  She had a great time though.  Her tail was wagging 100 miles per hour the whole time.

We went the rest of the way to the bottom and then drove a couple of miles up river.  We stopped at a side road and walked up it for half a mile.  Again Dan's dog ran all over and Lucy pretty much stayed with us.  Her legs were shaking by the time we got back to the car.  I'm really glad we took her.

The drive back was slow, but less stressful.  I kept it to about 25 because I'm unfamiliar with the Bronco's handling and it is a little squirrely.  We thought everyone was going to the shorthorn, so that's where we stopped.  We waited, but no one else showed up.  We ate dinner and then went to Dan's.  We talked and watched TV for awhile and then went home.

We surfed for awhile at home and then went to bed.
